'Where I'm from" I
'Where I'm from"
I am from a large city where the sound of bullets put babies to sleep. I am from trying to make sense of life, while making rooky mistakes. I am from cold winter nights and hot summer mornings. I am from a generation that mistreat each other instead of enpowering. I am from Sunday morning cemetary visits, from telling my old man that I will make him proud. I am from family that is loyal, and realizing that blood only makes you related. I am from scratched up knees, late soccer games, and red cards for getting too loud with the referee. I am from laying on my mom, and falling asleep to her playing with my hair. I am from being the youngest sister, and always messing up. I am from quinceneras that bleed into the next morning. I am from feeling absolutely alone in a sea full of peers. I am from pushing people away, because sooner or later, everyone walks out.
